A closer look at what is inside one scoop

A scoop is a serving utensil, not a unit of protein. The label tells you how much of that serving is actually protein—and what makes up the rest.

Scoop size and protein are different numbers

A 35 g serving that provides 24 g protein is not “35 g of protein.” The remainder can include carbohydrate, fat, moisture, minerals, flavouring and functional ingredients.

Use the serving weight printed for that exact variant. Scoops can settle, pack differently and vary between products.

The protein base comes first

Labels may identify whey concentrate, isolate, hydrolysed whey or a blend. These descriptions relate to processing and composition; they do not automatically rank the final product.

What matters is the complete label, the amount you receive, your dietary fit and credible quality evidence.

Small ingredients do real jobs

Cocoa, flavours and sweeteners shape taste. Lecithin can help mixing. Gums can alter thickness. Enzymes may be included, but their presence alone does not prove a digestion benefit for every user.

An unfamiliar chemical name is not proof of danger. Look up its function from a reliable source before reacting.

Run the percentage check

Divide grams of protein by serving weight and multiply by 100. This protein-by-weight figure makes serving-size differences easier to see.

It is a comparison tool, not a quality certificate. Pair it with ingredients, testing evidence, tolerance and current cost.
