Whey or fermented yeast protein?
One is dairy-derived and familiar; the other can fit a dairy-free routine. The better choice depends on the label and the person, not the novelty of the source.

Begin with dietary fit
Whey comes from milk and contains all essential amino acids. A yeast-derived product can be useful for someone avoiding dairy, but formulas differ and should be assessed using their actual nutrition and amino-acid information.
The source name is a starting point, not a performance guarantee.
Then compare the serving
Read grams of protein, serving weight and servings per pack. If amino-acid data are published, look for the complete essential-amino-acid profile rather than one large number on the front.
Also compare sodium, carbohydrate, fat, sweeteners and allergens when those matter to you.
Taste and digestion decide adherence
Whey has a familiar dairy base; yeast-derived proteins can bring a different aroma or aftertaste. Neither description predicts your reaction. A small pack or sample is more informative than review averages.
People with allergies or persistent digestive symptoms should not use internet comparisons as diagnosis.
